Heart of the Horse Code of Conduct
At Heart of the Horse Ranch, we are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and compassionate environment for every person and animal in our care. The following principles are maintained by all employees, volunteers, and boarders alike:
Treat everyone with dignity and respect. Show kindness, patience, compassion, and professionalism to clients, volunteers, visitors, coworkers, and community members.
Lead with integrity. Be honest, trustworthy, and accountable in all actions and decisions.
Put safety first. Follow all ranch safety procedures and help maintain a safe environment for people and horses.
Care for our horses with excellence. Treat every animal humanely, responsibly, and with respect for its well-being.
Support one another. Work collaboratively, communicate respectfully, and help create a positive team culture.
Embrace diversity and inclusion. Welcome people of all backgrounds and treat everyone fairly and without discrimination or harassment.
Protect privacy. Respect the confidentiality of clients, families, volunteers, and fellow employees.
Be a good steward. Respect ranch property, equipment, and resources, and use them responsibly.
Choose compassion. Remember that many who come to the ranch are seeking healing, growth, and hope. Let empathy, patience, and understanding guide every interaction.
By following these principles, we help ensure that Heart of the Horse Ranch remains a place where people, horses, and the community can thrive together. Anyone who is unable to practice these principles will be kindly asked to leave, in an effort to maintain a safe space for everyone on the Ranch.
